WASHINGTON -- The govenor is lauching an organizing effort to help Hillary Clinton win Minnesota.

Gov. Mark Dayton and Lt. Gov. Tina Smith will host the campaign's first grassroots organizational meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the University of Minnesota.

"I am excited to invite you to support my good friend, Hillary Clinton, in her presidential campaign," Dayton said in an email Monday.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, a Minneapolis mother was randomly selected in a contest to receive a call from the former secretary of state and Democratic frontrunner presidential candidate.

(The campaign points out campaign contributions were not required to enter the contest.)

Clinton called Malgorzata Twardowska, a 56-year-old Polish immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 2001.

President Barack Obama also called a Minnesota mother late last week for Mother's Day. Coon Rapids resident Stephanie Tarr, a waitress and mother of two, wrote the president a letter thanking him for his work a couple months ago, which inspired him to give her a surprise call last week.
