Kohler, Raymond of Hanapepe, HI and formerly Winsted was born August 8, 1929 and passed away peacefully September 17 in Waimea, HI. In 1949, Ray enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War. After serving for 22 years he and his family resided in Winsted where Ray worked another 22 years for Sterner Lighting. In 2007, Ray moved to Hanapepe, Hawaii, on the Island of Kauai, where he lived and enjoyed his final years in paradise with his son, Jonathan. Preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; Son, Charles E. Kohler; daughter, Katherine "Kay" Bird; parents, Ed and Mathilda Kohler; and brothers, Eugene, Benjamin & Kenneth Kohler. Survived by his children, Jonathan of Hanapepe, HI, Jacqueline (Joe) Kitts of Howard Lake, Timothy of Winter Springs, FL; son-in-law, Dan Bird of Keller, TX; grandchildren, David, Kristina, Timothy & Jennifer Bird, Jack, Jamie & Joey Kitts, Timothy Jr & Matthew Kohler; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Clara Ernhart, Eileen Krattenmaker; many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the mass all at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, MN.
