Scratch Mariah Carey off your to-do list and put her back on your bucket list.

The tour-adverse pop diva, who has never performed a proper concert in the Twin Cities, had listed Feb. 16 at Northrop Auditorium on her winter concert schedule but the date was removed from her website on Wednesday.

"I saw a message from her agent Monday morning that Live Nation had the tour and they decided not to come to our market," Northrop general manager Sally Dischinger said Thursday. "It would have been nice to have her in this market. But so it goes."

Northrop had been reserving Feb. 16 for Carey since she announced her Angels Advocate Tour in early December. The on-sale date for her tickets was never announced. A promoter for the date could not be secured. Live Nation, formerly known as Clear Channel, is the world's leading concert promoter and will be presenting Twin Cities concerts by U2, Brad Paisley and Nickelback, among others, this year.

A star since 1990, Carey has never performed a full concert in the Twin Cities. She did give cameo performances at Canterbury Park in 1999 (KDWB's Last Chance Summer Dance) and Mall of America in '02 (The Today Show).

Some people speculated that the diva's price was just too high. Tickets on her current tour are typically running from about $50 to $200. In Washington D.C. and Las Vegas, there is a top price of $250 whereas Atlanta and Chicago have a top ticket of $150. She performs at the Chicago Theatre on Feb. 13 and 14, the closest she'll come to the Twin Cities.
