Tuesday afternoon update: Russo reports that Martin Havlat has been added to the NHL All-Stars. More information to come. Havlat has a team-high 43 points on 13 goals and 30 assists. He joins Wild defenseman Brent Burns in being named for Sunday's game.

Tuesday morning update: Here's a great feature by Brian Stensaas on Taylor Crosby, the younger sister of Taylor Crosby, who's thriving at Shattuck-St. Mary's.

Well, Kent's in the Windy City. I'm not.

He's busy writing away, so I'll freshen up the blog.

I wrote this the other day on Twitter, but I'm hearing with more certainty today from multiple sources that if the league names injury replacements for Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Ales Hemsky, Martin Havlat is a frontrunner to head to Raleigh to partake in the All-Star Game.

Havlat currently has plans to leave town, but you can bet he'd be honored to scrap them and take part in his second All-Star Game (He scored two goals and an assist in the 2007 Game). He's tied for 22nd in the NHL and leads the Wild with 43 points.

In fact, according to sources, the league has inquired into the availability of Havlat and Mikko Koivu. Koivu is second on the team with 42 points. The Wild is hoping one or both get to go with Brent Burns, chosen earlier this month.

The Wild had two All-Stars in 2004 when Dwayne Roloson and Filip Kuba made it when the Wild hosted.

If Havlat and/or Koivu are chosen to go, it would have to be told to them Tuesday, I'd think. The All-Star break is Wednesday and both right now are planning on getting out of dodge.

From Kent, Nick Schultz practiced today and will play tomorrow in Chicago. Coach Todd Richards wouldn't say who'd start in goal, but unless there's an injury to Niklas Backstrom, I'd assume it's him. He's been tremendous in his two games since returning from a hip injury.

Bad news, Richards said Marco Scandella felt concussion-like symptoms while riding the bike the other day and has been put on hold again.

Kent's got the game tomorrow. Enjoy the game and the All-Star break.
